Early Learning Teacher

Salt & Light Academy is seeking a caring, dependable, and enthusiastic Early Learning Teacher to join our team for the 2026-2027 school year.

Our Early Learning Program is a small, private program designed exclusively for the children of Salt & Light Academy staff members. This is not a public daycare or childcare center. Our goal is to provide a nurturing, faith-based environment that prepares young children for future success in the classroom through hands-on learning, play, exploration, and purposeful daily routines.

Located on our beautiful farm campus, this role offers the opportunity to help young children grow academically, socially, emotionally, and spiritually during some of their most formative years.

Position Overview

This position will work alongside another Early Learning Teacher to care for and teach a small group of children ages 1–4 years old. While meeting the daily care needs of toddlers and young children, this role is also focused on creating engaging learning experiences that support school readiness and early childhood development.

Responsibilities

• Create a safe, loving, and engaging classroom environment

• Plan and lead age-appropriate learning activities, crafts, sensory play, and outdoor exploration

• Support early literacy, language, fine motor, and social-emotional development

• Teach and model Christian values through daily interactions

• Assist with diapering, potty training, snacks, and daily routines

• Encourage independence, curiosity, and a love of learning

• Maintain a clean, organized classroom environment

• Communicate professionally with families and fellow staff members

• Work collaboratively with the Early Learning team and academy staff

Qualifications

• Love for children and passion for early childhood development

• Strong Christian values that align with the mission of Salt & Light Academy

• Dependable, positive, and self-motivated

• Ability to engage young children through both structured activities and free play

• Experience in childcare, preschool, teaching, nannying, homeschooling, or church ministry is preferred

• Must be able to lift, carry, and actively engage with young children throughout the day

Hours

Monday–Friday 7:30-3:30 during the school year

Compensation

Compensation is based on experience and qualifications.
